Can you recommend any particular restaurants, famous or otherwise, in Las Vegas that you really enjoyed?

My husband and I are going to be in Vegas for my sister-in-law’s wedding in the middle of April this year, and we’ll be staying there a week. I’m really into cooking, so I’m looking forward to finding places with interesting things you wouldn’t just pick up back home — I am NOT just looking for another burger or pizza place.
I’ve done quite a bit of research on this myself, but I wanted to find out what people would recommend. Can you guys tell me some places you’ve eaten at in Vegas that you really enjoyed, and why? It can be a little place you stumbled across, or a well-known restaurant — in fact, letting me know if you ate at a particular fancy place and if you enjoyed it will let me know whether or not it’s worth the price and the hype!
I especially like Asian and Italian inspired dishes, and my husband enjoys well cooked fish or steaks. And if you found a place that’s really weird/strange for one reason or another, I want to know about that too!

Nascar Cafe.Excellent food,a fun and unique dining experience.GREAT service.Reasonable pricing.
Del Monico’s inside the Venetian is totally worth the big bucks! Awesome steaks and sides. The service was AMAZING and so were the martinis. I just suggested a co -worker to go there for her bday dinner and she LOVED it!
If you want a diner experience, maybe fore breakfast or lunch, i’d suggest the Peppermill. It’s super cheesy inside, but I love it! They have an extensive menu and I’ve never been upset once with any of the food.
The hotel with the best food court is Caesars Palace. They have Pizza, Pitas, Sandwiches…etc.
If you was some really good crepes, there is a little crepe place inside the Paris. SO YUMMY. The buffet is pretty good also. It is just kind of expensive.
If you go to the more fancier hotels, (Wynn, Mandalay Bay, Palazzo) you are bound to find amazing food.
Hopefully I was of some help!
Nobu in the Hard Rock Hotel. Delicious. The food is absolutely heavenly. Everything melts in your mouth. This place is a Japanese restaurant with a Peruvian influence. The two is a great combination! Very expensive but well worth it!
Ah Sin in the Paris has nice Asian food, and even better, you get a fab view of the Bellagio fountains opposite!
The Voodoo Cafe at the Rio is nice, but expensive. There also used to be a lovely Indian restaurant at the Rio, not sure if it’s still there (Vegas changes SO quickly!) but if so it’s worth a look.
For breakfast, I love to go to Red White and Blue in the Mandalay Bay – the corned beef hash and eggs was especially yum!
And I know you said not another burger place but the Burger Bar at Mandalay Place (between the Luxor and Mandalay Bay) is better than your average! The sweet potato fries were gorgeous!! You can mix and match all different kinds of meats and toppings to makea burger just how you want it.
Hope this helps – have fun in Vegas!
My list of “must haves” when I’m in Las Vegas starts with Bouchon. It’s Thomas Keller’s place (he of the French Laundry). Everything he does is out of this world; even something as simple as his roasted chicken is sublime. Good wine list with reasonable per-glass prices. Their shellfish (mussels, clams) are unbelievably good.
Okada is great as well…especially for the Asian themed. Their Korean themed short ribs were outstanding; their sushi was…well, sushi. It was good. Not superlative. But the short ribs…outstanding.
There are numerous steakhouses in Las Vegas. Most of your large casinos all have good ones. The one at the Palms (name escapes me) was probably the best, mostly on the back of elevating the onglet and the hanger steak to perfection (and not just having the usual strip, rib-eye, filet, etc.) and making the only good martini I’ve had in that city.
For going lowbrow…The Happiest Place on Earth is a good way to sample the local poison, and if you want kitchy, old-school with a dab of irony, get thee to the Peppermill. White patent leather shoes a plus.
Cafe BaBaReeba in the Fashion Mall.
Cowboy steak is cook at your table on a 500F slab of granite.
If money is not an object, go to Prime at Bellagio. It is the most decadent place I’ve been. I also dig N9NE steakhouse at the Palms. For mexican food, I like the Pink Taco at the Hard Rock. I’ve been told that Social House at TI and Tao at the Venetian are good for Asian food, but I don’t know firsthand because it’s not really my thing.
Sushi Roku is in the Caesars Palace shops area and we really liked it. The place is beautiful and they have some very unique Asian dishes. Their window overlooks the strip so at night is looks fantastic.
For Italian I would suggest Zefferino’s in the Venetian hotel. It is great old school Italian food. Get a window seat that overlooks their indoor waterways where you will see the gondolas go by. Have a Great Time!
